Robert St. Lawrence
Technician/Lighting Director

St. Lawrence received his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Pittsburgh . He has taught stagecraft, lighting design, sound design, and technical production at Ohio University since 1975, as well as designing scenery, lighting and sound for scores of productions. Before that, he was technical director and production manager for the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, responsible for resident seasons at Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts in Pittsburgh , and touring nationally thru much of the eastern part of the United States . In 1987 he established the sound design program in the School of Theater , in cooperation with the schools of Music, Film and Telecommunications. He has consulted on and designed systems for the Monomoy Theater in Cape Cod , Kantner Hall and The Ridges Auditorium at Ohio University , as well as The Stuart's Opera House. He has been developing an AutoCAD program in the School of Theater since 1994, which currently involves course work in the Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Technology programs as well as his own courses. He has been an active member of USITT for many years, and has provided papers and chaired panels for SETC in portfolio development, lighting design, and sound design on numerous occasions since 1987.
