Double bassist David Messina has a versatile performance background combining classical, chamber music, and jazz. Mr. Messina has performed with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Lancaster Festival Orchestra, Dayton Philharmonic, and Huntington Chamber Orchestra. He is currently a member of the West Virginia Symphony and principal bassist with the Ohio Valley Symphony.
Mr. Messina's teaching experience also spans a wide variety of ages as well as disciplines. He teaches private bass students, and additionally has instructed 18 to 55 year old Music Appreciation students at West Virginia University-Parkersburg, and high school marching band students. Messina volunteers in the music program at Amesville Elementary School where his wife, Lori, teaches music.
An avid cyclist, David enjoys the hills of Southeastern Ohio and West Virginia for road riding and mountain biking. |
