Bachelor of Music in Music Theory

The undergraduate program in Music Theory is designed for those students who wish to pursue academic training in music that will prepare them for graduate work in music theory, composition, or music history.  At the undergraduate level, the curriculum provides solid fundamental musicianship skills in applied music, written theory, aural perception, music history and literature, and functional piano skills.  In the final two years of study, courses in counterpoint and analysis are supplemented by electives in music literature, composition, and electronic music as well as applied studies and academic courses outside the School of Music.
