Master of Music Education: "At a Distance" Program

The distance learning degree is an alternative to the traditional on-campus master's degree program in that it allows teachers to participate in professional development and meet the new state license requirements with the least amount of disruption in their teaching schedule. Coursework is accessed online and includes training in music education and in the history and theory of music. The curriculum is designed to be relevant and flexible to the needs of individual teachers. Through the program of study, teachers develop their research and writing skills as well as bring new methods and materials to their teaching environment. The degree can be completed "at a distance" except for on-campus visits for entrance exams, two summers of intensive two-week courses and exit (oral) exams.
