Stringed Instrument Audition Requirements: Undergraduate
Performance degree majors:
Cello, Viola, or Violin -The first movement of a concerto, one movement of an unaccompanied work by Bach, and an etude.
Double Bass students should prepare a movement from a concerto and a
movement from a sonata, or two contrasting movements of a sonata.
Music Majors, all other degree programs:
Two contrasting pieces.
All students, regardless of major, should be prepared to demonstrate knowledge of scales and arpeggios.
The School of Music does not offer degree training in guitar.
