Jeanette teaches screenwriting and directing classes in the School of Film and is the director of studies for the Honors Tutorial Program in Film.
Jeanette serves as a liaison between the film and acting community in Athens. She mentors the stage management students in the theatre department, and assists student filmmakers in finding talent. She is currently working on strengthening the connection between the School of Film and Theatre Department by creating classes that are shared between Masters students from both Theatre and Film.
There Are No Strangers, her one woman play was selected for the New York Theater Workshop’s New Play Development workshop, received it’s first full professional production at Theatre J in Washington D.C. and was later performed at The Michigan Women’s Music Festsival.
Her critically acclaimed feature film debut Out of Season, which she produced and directed, was honored at the Los Angeles Outfest where she received the Outstanding Emerging Talent award. The film was screened in film festivals throughout the U.S. and internationally and was then picked up for distribution and released theatrically.
Her most recent short, Lie Together is currently on the festival circuit and has screened at San Francisco Frameline, LAOutfest, Chicago Reeling and other festivals.
She retains her Actor’s Equity card and has worked as a theatrical stage manager in the D.C. area and as a stage manager for music festivals through out the country.
