After graduating from the sound department in Beijing Film Academy and working two years as a sound designer in the professional film and TV production field in China, Chen Song came to Ohio University School of Film to continue pursuing her dreams of film production. In the past two years, Chen wrote, directed, and produced five short narratives and one documentary, and also worked on different positions in other films.
Her thesis film, EVERYBODY HAS A DREAM wins the 2006 Student Enhancement Award sponsored by the University's Council for Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity and the 2006 Betty Thomas Award. It was just shot in Beijing, China and is now in post-production.

YOYO, a young man from the Northeastern China countryside, works as a moving advertisement in Beijing City. He wins a lottery one day, which makes him think he can take his girlfriend for a free vacation at the most beautiful ocean shore in Southern China. But later he is told by the travel agency that the lottery does not cover anything except the plane tickets. He needs to find a way to make some quick money in order to make the dream come true. After one night of careful consideration and rehearsal, YOYO decides to pretend to be hit by a car and defraud the money…… |
