Study Abroad In Spain

The Trip:

The first part is a week of classroom instruction at OU before we leave for the international experience. This will consist of preparatory coursework for the experience. For more information on courses offered and credit options see the “Courses” Page.

The second section of the experience encompasses the first 2 weeks of our time in Spain.

During this time students will live in a dorm setting and take daily classes in the Spanish Language, diversity and major specific content classes. There will also be excursions to other cities, museums and visits to schools and therapy sites. See the “Excursions” page for more information.

The third segment of this experience will be a field experience. Students will live with host families and work at day camps or resident camps with children from diverse backgrounds.

The Foundation for the Spanish language helps immigrant children to learn Spanish so they can better acclimate themselves to life in Spain. Ohio University students would not only be working with children from Spain, but also from Africa, Eastern Europe and other regions of the world.
