If
you are craving an opportunity to study abroad but wondering
how to fit it into your busy school year, the Global Theater
Institute during Winter Intersession might be the ideal
program for you. You will have an incomparable opportunity
to experience incredible performances ranging from the West
End to the fringe including Ralph Feines playing Oedipus
at the National Theater; you will also be able to take in
the beauty of London during the holiday season.
Experience some of the world's most important theater including
productions at the National Theatre, The Barbican, as well as the West
End (London’s equivalent to Broadway), as well as fringe and
experimental venues. You will soon discover why London is the center
of the international theatre world. Each year we have seen work by
some of the world’s leading actors and directors including James
Broadbent, Judi Dench, Michael Gambon, and Bill Irwin, as productions
by Katie Mitchell, Theatre de Complicite, Cheek by Jowl, Shunt. We
will also attend art, dance and music events and much more including a
bus tour of London on the first day of the program, a ride on the
London Eye, also known as the Millennium Wheel that provides an
unparalleled view of this wonderful city.
Your class meets at theaters in the evenings (with some matinees) with
discussions after. Because your days are largely free to pursue your
own interests, you may wish to do your Holiday shopping in London
where you can find unusual gifts for friends and family back home.

Completion of Course assignments:
You have until the end of Winter Quarter to complete all the
assignments. Due to the limited amount of time we are in London, I
recommend that you take great notes in discussion sessions while in
