Dr. Randall teaches dance history, modern dance and ballet technique, composition, and pedagogy. Her current scholarly work focuses on the cultural transfer of dance modernism in the 1920s and 1930s, particularly in the work of modern dance pioneer Hanya Holm. She has published articles and book reviews in Dance Research Journal, Theatre Journal, and the Jahrbuch der Gesellschaft für Tanzforschung (Yearbook of the Society of Dance Research). Tresa regularly presents papers at national and international conferences of organizations such as the Society of Dance History Scholars, Congress on Research in Dance, and National Dance Education Organization. She has received numerous awards, including the CORD Graduate Student Research Award and a Temple University Fellowship for doctoral study. She holds a BA from Hamilton College, an MA from the University of New Mexico, and a PhD from Temple University, Philadelphia. As a dancer, Tresa performed with Bill Evans, Ann Vachon, Mark DeGarmo, Robert Stivers, the Santa Fe Opera, and several other companies, and has performed in reconstructions of historic works by José Limón, Doris Humphrey, and May O’Donnell. Tresa is also a practitioner of yoga, which she studied in Chennai, India with T.K.V. Desikachar. She was a visiting professor at Ohio University in 2005-2006, and became an Assistant Professor in fall 2006. Previously, she was a Visiting Professor at Hamilton College, graduate teaching assistant at the University of New Mexico and Temple University, and guest lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania.
