Michael Lachman is a 2002 graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelor of Music in piano performance and composition, and has written and performed for a variety of dance and theater productions including the OU School of Telecommunications' online dramatization of Alice and Wonderland (www.wiredforbooks.org) and the Ohio Valley Summer Theater's 2002 production of Damn Yankees.  An Athens native, Michael began his training as a dance accompanist at the age of 15, working at Factory Street Dance, a local private studio.

In addition to his work in the School of Dance, Michael performs locally and nationally with Southeast Engine, a six-member band playing original Americana/roots music.  When not involved in music and dance, he spends his time cycling, working as a human rights observer in northern Columbia, and trying to coax his decrepit 1984 riding mower into running one more day.  Michael teaches music for dance and supervises sound production for dance concerts.
