Mickie Geller came to Ohio University in 1983 after spending the previous twelve years in New York City performing, choreographing and teaching. She has had her work produced at Dance Theater Workshop and other New York City venues. As a freelance dancer in New York, she performed with several choreographers including Rosalind Newman, Jack Moore, Tina Croll and Pat Catterson. She was on the faculty of Pratt Institute for eleven years, three of which were as chair of the dance program. Since coming to Ohio University, she has continued to choreograph, perform, and teach in New York, Ohio, and neighboring states, and Finland and Japan, and has received three Ohio Arts Council Individual Artists' Fellowships in Choreography. She received her B.A. in dance from Bennington College in 1971 and her MFA in dance from the New York University School of the Arts in 1979. Geller teaches Modern and Ballet techniques, choreography, repertory, and senior capstone project. |
