All students enter the School of Art as Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Art majors, and must complete requirements in studio foundations, art history, and major courses. Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and an in-major GPA of 3.0 to remain in the major.
We expect many of our students will choose to continue with the BA in Art degree option because it provides easier access to elective courses and double major opportunities, as well as some off-campus study opportunities.
The undergraduate program prepares students to work in fields related to art, or undertake graduate work at the Master's level, which is the terminal degree in studio fine arts. Classes include foundations courses, art history courses, 300- and 400-level studio courses, and two years of language study.
Students interested in earning a Bachelor of Arts in Art degree should contact
the School of Art Office to obtain the current degree requirements.
