Over the past 15 years the graphic design program has gone on an annual field trip to visit top graphic design firms in major metropolitan areas. Each visit consisted of a formal presentation for the design firms philosophy and a Q&A session with the design principals of the firm. This was always followed by tours of the work environment and break out interviews for the firms to review our student portfolios. Each trip allowed each student attending to have 2-3 interviews with top designers from these firms. There were placements however few because there were very few openings in these firms.
