Ohio University Art Gallery, located in Seigfred Hall on the Fifth Floor, is a 2500 square foot exhibition space. This gallery hosts three to five exhibitions per year of works by nationally and regionally known artists of all disciplines. During the past years, Steve Rucker, Linda Herritt, Phyllis McGibbon, Harvey Breverman, Xu Bing, Mary Jo Boles, Van McElwee, among many others exhibited their work in the gallery. In addition, the gallery hosts Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts thesis exhibitions every year in the spring quarter.
Monday - Saturday, 10am - 4pm.
Admission is free, all events are open to public.

November 3 - November 19, 2009 OHIO UNIVERSITY ART GALLERY Second-Year Graduate Student Exhibition Annual group exhibit highlighting work from departments of Ceramics, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, and Sculpture. Featuring work by Brice Brisco, Kimberly Crum, Elizabeth Dobson, Jeffery Lovett, Caitlin Nolan, Frank Oriti, John Sanders, Benjamin Stout, and Natalie Tornatore.

September 8 – October 29, 2009, OHIO UNIVERSITY ART GALLERY DeWitt Godfrey: Drawings DeWitt Godfrey is an Associate Professor of sculpture in the department of Art and Art History and Director of the Institute for the Creative and Performing Arts at Colgate University. The course of DeWitt Godfrey’s work marks a trajectory that simultaneously shifts away from strongly declarative, autonomous, individual objects to structures that emphasize the relational existence of form to contexts: material, process, place and collaboration. Godfrey’s most recent work has moved into public space, bringing a new set of conditions into play. The exhibition titled Drawings showcases works on paper and a folio of drawings related to an upcoming public work proposed for Ohio University entitled Buttress, on view from May 2010 – 2011, the Ridges, outside of Kennedy Museum of Art, Lin Hall. Reception is not scheduled for this exhibition. |
