Marilyn Poeppelmeyer holds an MFA from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a BFA from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Her work has been included in over fifty exhibitions acr oss the United States, most recently at Three Rivers Arts Festival , Pittsburgh in 1999 where she showed Pig Rings, an installation; and 4 Chicks From Ohio, a group show at Artemesia Gallery in Chicago, 1999. She has also shown her work at the Ohio Arts Council Gund Gallery in Columbus; Southern Vermont Art Center in Manchester; Greer Museum in Rio Grande, Ohio; Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri; and Oklahoma State University, among many others. She received an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Ohio Arts Council in 1986 and a Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1984. Marilyn Poeppelmeyer has taught at several Colleges and Universities including University of Georgia, Arizona State University and University of South Carolina/Columbia. She has been teaching sculpture at Ohio University since 1984. |
