Jody Lamb's professional background is that of an art historian, specializing in the History of Photography, Nineteenth Century Art, and early Twentieth Century Art. He has primarily written and lectured on issues related to the late Victorian and Edwardian art world, painting, and photography. He is the founder of the Historians of British Art, a professional organization of British art scholars and students.

From 2001-2003, Dr. Lamb was Associate Director of the School of Art. During the 2003-04 academic year, he was Interim Director of the School of Art while the director was on academic leave. He then served as Director of the College of Fine Arts first Spring Quarter in London program.

Jody has been the director of the School of Art's Art and Art History in Great Britain summer program since 1992. Should you visit his office in Jennings House, you will discover that he is an avid Red Sox fan, with Red Sox players' bats and gloves one of the dominating motifs.
