Kevin Ewing received a BFA in Graphic Design from the College for Creative Studies, Detroit in 1987, where a professional path as an award winning graphic designer, art director, retail designer and freelance illustrator followed. Over time, his passion for the fine arts finally superceded his interest in advertising and he returned to school, receiving an MFA from Wayne State University in 2007.

Ewing participated in the Fort Mason Drawing group in San Francisco and worked as an installation assistant at Elaine L. Jacob Gallery in Detroit. He was a painting and drawing instructor at Wayne State University and has lectured at both Wayne State and Ohio University. In addition, Ewing curated the show Sculpture??? at Oakland University – Meadow Brook, where he helped lead an artist panel discussion as well as publish a catalog interview. He has had solo and group exhibitions at, among others, Forum Gallery at Cranbrook, Gallery Project in Ann Arbor, Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, Gallery 114 in East Lansing and Gallery 555 in Detroit.

His work has been reviewed in print and online publications including The Ann Arbor News, The Metro Times, The Oakland Post, DetroitArts.com and TheDetroiter.com, where Ewing also publishes gallery reviews.
