Throughout the academic year, Ohio University invites several visiting artists, historians, designers and critics to campus to meet with students, critique their work, and share thoughts and insights. Visiting Artists and Scholars provide students and faculty as well as the population of the Southern Ohio region with direct access to recent developments in contemporary art and culture. This invaluable program challenges canonical approaches to the production of knowledge, promotes new pedagogical methods and encourages a socially engaged and theoretically informed dialogue.
In addition to public lectures, visiting artists and scholars often engage with students through teaching intensives or by participating in seminars, critiques, or symposiums.
