First Year Scholarship Information for Incoming Freshmen
Fine Arts Talent Awards
Application deadline: February 20. Application must be received by office, not postmarked.
This scholarship is administered through the Ohio University School of Art. These talent-based renewable scholarships are awarded to incoming Freshmen who have applied to and been accepted at OU and the School of Art and who have submitted an application packet to the School of Art according to the guidelines printed below.
3.0 accumulative GPA required for renewal. All material must be submitted by the February 1st deadline. Send the portfolio to:

Notification of Award
The recipients and alternate for the Fine Arts Talent Awards will be notified in writing by April 1. All other applicants will be notified via email by April 7.
The Fine Arts Talent Application Should Include the Following If You Plan to Major in Fine Arts:
A digital portfolio of 5-8 images and a cover slide on a CD Rom in PowerPoint format. The first slide should contain your name, phone number, and email address. The subsequent slides should be labeled with the title, date, and medium. You should include at least 3 drawings done from 3 dimensional objects. The size of the file should not exceed 5 MG. Please shrink your images prior to putting them into the Power Point.
A cover letter stating your intent to apply to the School of Art as a general art major that includes your name, phone number, email address and contact information. You should also include your High School GPA, class rank (30/100, for example), ACT or SAT scores
A stamped, self-addressed postcard that we will send out upon receipt of your FATA.
The Fine Arts Talent Application Should Include the Following If You Plan to Major in Art History:
One writing samples of 3-5 pages if you plan to major in Art History. The writing samples must be submitted digitally in a Microsoft Word document. Your name, telephone number and email address must be at the top of each page.
A cover letter stating your intent to apply to the School of Art as a general art major that includes your name, phone number, email address and contact information. You should also include your High School GPA, class rank (30/100, for example), ACT or SAT scores.
A stamped, self-addressed postcard that we will send out upon receipt of your FATA.
Applications that do not follow the guidelines above will not be considered. We will not accept slides or digital portfolios of images that are not in power point format. For art history majors, we will not accept documents that are not in Microsoft word. Materials will not be returned. Please don’t send original copies. Do not send your fine arts talent application with your application for admission. Send it directly to the school of art.
