Quarters to Semesters

With the start of Fall Quarter 2012, Ohio University will transition to semesters, and a new BFA major will be available to School of Art students. Please read the following important information regarding these changes.


Transition Advising

Transition advising begins Fall 2011 for all Athens and Regional Campus Student


Find Your Transition Advisor

Dr. Rosemarie Basile, the Assistant Director for Student Services, will be the Transitional Advisor for all School of Art students (Athens Campus).


Regional Campus Students: Please check with your home campus for advising information.


Making an Advising Appointment


All School of Art students will be contacted by Dr. Rosemarie Basile by email with instructions about how and when to make an appointment for transition advising, and will be responsible for following those instructions and keeping their appointment. The appointments will begin fall quarter and continue through the 2011-2012 academic year.


Preparing for Your Advising Appointment

On the day of your advising appointment, you should:

  • Report to the School of Art office
  • Arrive 5 minutes before your appointment time
  • Plan to spend approximately 30 minutes with Dr. Basile
  • Review the Q2S transition information posted on the School of Art website
  • Bring a copy of your DARS report
  • Review a Semester Check Sheet for your major
  • Review the Transitional Degree Completion Plan (TDCP) form
